followings are 縸\痟e stuff I think you should bring
Cash, bed sheets(3) blanket(1 thick, 1 thin), Pillow is only $3-$5 here
(your option), sandals, slippers, one pair of nice leather shoes, one
or two pairs of sports shoes or other light shoes.  5 nice shirts, 2
slacks, 2 jeans, 2 shorts, 2 sets of nice suit, many T shirts (with no
collar), some T shirts with collar. pullover(2) and sportswear, ties,
bathroom supplies,(don't forget soap holder) stationary, 2 or 3 big
bath towels, extra pair of glasses, pots(1 big,1 small: during breaks,
you have to cook by yourself ) pan ($10 your option), a cup.  swimming
pants, family photos.  some handicrafts (not too much), your favorite
tapes, walkman and rechargeable batteries. your favorite books ( I have
always regretted that I did not bring Jinyong & Gulong's series with
me). A rollable light bamboo bed sheet.  A very warm overcoat with
wind-proof hat, gloves, jackets (2), a pair of woolen pants. Medicine,
umbrella, sunglasses, a bowl, chopsticks, laundry detergent (your
option, $3 here), paper binders, buy envelops here, bring your boss'
recommendation letters.   Official sealed transcripts, dictionary,
kitchen knife (big one), watch, calculator camera
