THE group of languages making up East and South Asian studies produced a hig
h-scoring teaching quality assessment. Westminster - the only new university
in the ranking - did well to join Cambridge, Leeds and London's School of O
riental and African Studies as top-rated for teaching. Fewer than 1,500 stud
ents take languages as their main subject, with Chinese and Japanese vying t
o be the largest recruiter.
