Architecture



 
SEVEN universities make the top 20 of the architecture rankings, thanks to their strong performance in teaching. 
Teaching quality was assessed in 1994 and gradings of "excellent" given to East London and Greenwich, as well as Glasgow School of Art, and the older universities of Bath, Cambridge, UCL, Newcastle, Nottingham, Sheffield, Strathclyde and York. Assessors 
from the English funding council noted that the development of computer-aided design skills was "variable", reflecting wide differences in the attitudes of institutions towards this area of the subject.
