Paper- and Computer-based versions of the GRE 
 
The paper-based version of the GRE General Test (but not the 
GRE Subject Tests) will be given on April 4, 1998 and on 
April 10, 1999.  The paper-based versions of the GRE General 
and the GRE Subject tests will also be available on November 
7, 1998.  After April 1999, only computer-based 
administrations of the GRE General Test will be available in 
most locations. 
 
The computer-based version of the GRE is not currently 
available in China; it will become available in October, 
1999. 
 
GRE Subject Tests will continue to be available at paper- 
based administrations only.
