The computerized GMAT test (CAT) consists of 3 parts.
Writing: 2 X 30 Min
it remains the same as the paper-based test.
Maths: 75 min
I can't remember the exact name of this section. It
contains 37 questions of 2 category. One is problem solving and
the other is data sufficiency. Usually you can have some time
for rest which is essential to the test, because the last part is
exhausting.
Verbal: 75 min
Also the name is not exact. It contains 41 questions, 4
kinds of questions, such as reading (usually 3-4 paragraphs),
reasoning, error correction and blank filling.
GMAT scoring is strange recently. My classmate got 790! And a
guy who just pass cet-6 got 740!, and he told me that he
didn't really understand a lot. You can get your score just
after you finish the exam. Of course the computer will ask you
" will you cancel the score or not?" Sounds interesting?! ETS
will issue formal score report 2 weeks later with some printings.
However the % on these printing can never be trusted. A lot
people got strange score and %.
For the preparation, familiarity is the 1st important thing.
ETS issued a software exactly the same as the test, which is the
only real one I have ever found in China, even the CD
attached to the preparation material issued by ETS (I spent USD70
to buy it).
Time & energy allocation is also a very important point. You
cann't have enough rest time, so you should use the break after
writing and the remaining time of Maths part efficiently.
